Morgan Geyser, one of the two girls involved in the 2014 Slenderman stabbing, recently went missing after cutting off her monitoring bracelet at a Wisconsin group home.
She was only 12 at the time and was sentenced to 40 years in a psychiatric facility. Now 23, she was living under conditional release in a supervised group home.
On November 22, 2025, she removed her Department of Corrections monitoring bracelet and fled her group home in Madison, Wisconsin.
Police issued an urgent alert, and later, within 24 hours, she was found in Illinois and taken back into custody.
Morgan Geyser’s Parents Spoken In The Past About Their Daughter’s Struggles With Mental Illness!
Born in 2002 to parents Angie and Matt, Morgan Geyser grew up in Waukesha, Wisconsin.
At the age of 12, she and her friend Anissa Weier attacked their classmate Payton Leutner 19 times.
Morgan was diagnosed with schizophrenia at a young age, and Weier suffered from a shared delusional belief with Morgan.
They were both influenced by the Slenderman myth and convinced themselves that Slenderman was real and that they needed to kill someone to prove their devotion and gain his protection.
Together, they lured their friend Payton Leutner into the woods in Waukesha, Wisconsin, and attacked her.
Fortunately, Payton survived the attack after crawling to a nearby road, asking for help.
When Morgan’s parents first learned that their daughter had done the thing that they had never imagined, even in their dreams, they were shocked.
Her mother, Angie, said she “couldn’t believe what I was hearing” when detectives told her that her daughter had been admitted to the stabbing.
The family highlighted that Morgan had shown signs of mental illness, but they never imagined violence.
In the recent 2025 case of her escape from a group home, her parents have not given detailed public interviews.
However, reports note they remain deeply worried about her safety and stability.
