Fátima Bosch Fernández is a Mexican model and pageant queen who was crowned Miss Universe 2025 in November 2025 at the 74th Miss Universe pageant held in Bangkok, Thailand.

In the Miss Universe 2025 pageantry program, Fátima Bosch was involved in a major controversy.

Thai pageant director Nawat Itsaragrisil publicly criticized her during a livestreamed pre-pageant event, calling her a “dumbhead” for not joining a promotional activity.

She asserted that she deserved respect, prompting several contestants, including the reigning Miss Universe, to walk out in solidarity.

The incident sparked widespread backlash, forcing Nawat to issue an apology. After the incident, the Thai pageant director issued a public apology, saying:

I am human. I didn’t want to do anything like that…I want to take this opportunity to say something about something that’s happened. Because I am a human. I think you must understand the pressure is a lot, I am a human sometimes. I cannot control. By the way, I have not intend to hurt anyone.

Despite the public humiliation, walkouts, and resignations, Fatima went on to win Miss Universe 2025.
